| Field of Study: | Aesthetician/Esthetician and Skin Care Specialist

| Description: | The Professional Spa Therapist program is much more then just an esthetics program. In addition to courses that teach proper techniques in manicure/pedicure, facials, waxing, cosmetology, and make-up artistry, Elmcrest College teaches advanced modalities, such as hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, relaxation massage, mud and seaweed wraps, salt glows, and human anatomy. Our unique Introduction to Business course covers career and professional development (communications, résumé writing, and interview skills), as well as an introduction to the spa industry. Our student clinic gives you practical experience so you are work-ready when you graduate.
You could practice esthetics in a spa, salon, on a cruise ship, in a fitness centre, in a dermatologist, or plastic surgeon’s office. You could be an entrepreneur and own your own spa or salon, spa/salon manager, educator/trainer or coordinator, make-up artist, trainer, or sales consultant of beauty products. There is constant demand in these and in many other areas for qualified aestheticians. |
